Richard Fuller was a resident of Chichester between 1759 & 1842. In the south alley of Chichester Cathedral’s cloisters there are two wall monuments dedicated to Richard & members of his family.
His cellar book & his daughter-in-law Maria’s book of recipes were the inspiration for our range of oat-based Chichester biscuits called Sussex Alberts.
Within this group we have our Christmas biscuits, called Twelfth Nights, which are made to celebrate old Sussex traditions like the sharing of the wassail bowl on New Year’s eve, and visits from the tipteerers to entertain neighbours during the long, cold winter’s nights.
These delicious biscuits can be enjoyed on their own or with cheese – they are particularly good with blue cheese.
